So you want to know what the typical day working at a website startup looks like? Well, in all honesty, there isn’t one, but here’s a rough idea…

7:00 AM: My alarm goes off, I get up and get ready for the day!

8:00 AM: Post our morning Instagram content and leave for work.

9:00 AM: Arrive at work and get ready to shoot for YouTube. Then we check the lighting and camera settings are all correct before we start filming.

10:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Shoot a batch of videos for YouTube and post our mid-day social media content.

2:00 PM to 5:00 PM:

Then I get to writing blog posts, creating original social media content and scheduling it for all our platforms for the rest of the week. We are active on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube – that’s alot of memes to make!

5:30 PM: Post evening Instagram

6:00 to 7:00 PM: Go to the gym – no rest for the wicked!

8:00 PM: I arrive home, make myself dinner and post our night time Instagram content. Done! Now it’s time to chill (aka catch up on my own social media) and get in those hours of beauty sleep (aka watch Netflix til 1 am in the morning).

It’s definitely fun a job, especially when there are new products you get to help design (watch this space!) and photo shoots which involve model scouting and online shopping – finally I’m putting my favourite past time into use! Working for a website startup centred around hair is the perfect job if you’re creative, love hair and beauty and like assisting in lots of different tasks.

Imagine The Devil Wears Prada but without the evil boss.

Working in a small team means that we are like a close-knit family and is our baby!

As well as the above, a day in my life can also include:

Assisting on photo shoots
Updating the website with new products
Weekly team meetings
Trips to the stock warehouse
Taking original photos for blogs and social media
Photo editing
Selecting music for our Youtube videos
Postal runs
Scouting for social media influencers
And finally, team lunches in the mailbox, it’s a tough life but someone has to do it!
